So this question pops up in my email a few moments ago. I figured screw the fact I have a fever of 101... I need to get this answered. There is no such thing as a stupid question so this person just needs a little help. Well I am about to help you, whoever you are!

First things first, stop having sex with your partner, if you have not kicked him to the curb, until you both have been tested and cleared from all STD's. Many people (men and women) pass an STD to a partner without realizing that they are infected.

You can go to your own doctor for tests or you can go to a local clinic that may offer their services at a cost that is based upon your income level (such as Planned Parenthood).

When you go to your doctor's office, or STD clinic to be tested, make sure that you tell your doctor, or nurse practitioner, about the symptoms that you have been experiencing. They may ask you questions about your sexual activity and partners. This is not something to be embarrassed about. Your doctor, or nurse practitioner needs to know this information so that you can be given the most appropriate treatment.

When being tested for a STD, you may have to have a series of tests before you can be given treatment. This is so that your doctor can confirm your diagnosis. Once you get your diagnosis and course of treatment, be sure to take your medication and follow up with your appointments as directed. If you alter, you put yourself at risk of prolonged illness and treatments.
